Maybe I got the wrong impression from your earlier post, but it sounded
like you have not ever watched it? If that is the case I have not, either, which means I don't really know if they romaticise the industry or not. If
you have not watched it, I wonder how you would know that.
It sounds like some who do watch it regularly are suggesting that, while there are certainly characters who "love the industry" (which would be expected on a show centered on it), the overall show doesn't really portray the industry
in such a positive light.
That is just what I am getting out of all of this.
As an aside, I did watch "Mad Men" and, while some of the characters seemed
to enjoy their jobs, my takeaway was that the advertising industry wasn't portrayed in a positive light. I would never call it a "puff piece" for
the advertising (or tobacco!) industry.
