but I'm hooked already. Looks like it's gonna be excellent.

This show is fantastic and deviates well away from the typicl Taylor Sheridan norm of drama and violence. It's mostly a ton of drama, but incredbily well acted. Billy Bob was meant for that role.

Cool, glad to hear that, and was pretty sure that was the general
consensus for those who've watched it. Have always liked Billy B.

Thanks for the input, I look forward to continuing this series!

Yeah but it becomes a parody of itself in the 2nd season and also
the logistics doesn't make sense. or does it. basically he says he's driving To places 5 hrs away and then comes back home and does other shit.

I highly doubt oil money is funding it. It doesn't glamorize the industry.
and everyone needs oil no matter what anybody thinks. they dont need to Promote oil.

people are so weird about this stuff.. even a bunch of professional magazine writers missed a pretty obvious thing.

if you think it's propoganda, and you know that the characters in the show would specifically prefer to spread that sort of propoganda, and then they say things that a person who works in the oil industry would.. why are you surprised?

several spent a LOT of time nitpicking the things people said in the show like "THIS IS WRONG! LOOK AT THIS RESEARCH!" ..

yeah sure buddy. whether it is or not, imagine the main character saying "well damn guys i think wind energy would be better, but i guess we're stuck with this.." over and over

    it's just silly.

    What exactly is your point?

Usually if a show is trying to come off as a serious drama of any sort, they'd not be so obvious about shilling for an industry, and maybe not try and spread garbage "info" that much of the audience doesn't critically think about or understand isn't fact. It's just absorbed.

There's nothing weird about calling out a show for being obvious propaganda when it's obvious propaganda. It would be weird to look at this show and not catch that.

Maybe I got the wrong impression from your earlier post, but it sounded
like you have not ever watched it? If that is the case I have not, either, which means I don't really know if they romaticise the industry or not. If
you have not watched it, I wonder how you would know that.

It sounds like some who do watch it regularly are suggesting that, while there are certainly characters who "love the industry" (which would be expected on a show centered on it), the overall show doesn't really portray the industry
    in such a positive light.

That is just what I am getting out of all of this.

As an aside, I did watch "Mad Men" and, while some of the characters seemed
to enjoy their jobs, my takeaway was that the advertising industry wasn't portrayed in a positive light. I would never call it a "puff piece" for
