• Trump says he's 'not happy' with Putin

Oh yeah? Putin has been bombing Ukraine nonstop for three years - every single day, you ***king clown. We've got a surplus of weapons rusting away in Arizona - send them all to Ukraine.

I translate that to "I thought I could pressure Putin and/or try to sweep
it under the rug, but I am realizing that even I cannot control this
situation" while trying to cast off any blame for it.

Either that, or he really has kept his head in the sand.

I'm not happy with war in general. What Putin is doing is 'not good,'
but I'm not sure I trust Z either. War profiteering is always a
danger... And all the money that went to Ukraine instead of helping
    out here at home?

I've read a little more into the backstory, and turns out one of
the 'deals' was about NATO not moving any closer to Putin, and
then a few inches here, a few there... From HIS point of view,
    he is defending his territory...

Just an FYI, very low amount of money went to Ukraine as cash, 90% of money was used to buy weapons.

You don't understand what's going on, let me give you a short story.

    - Russia entered military forces to Ukranian Crimea and occupied it (Feb 2014, Zelensky was not a president at that time!).
    - ONLY AFTER THAT, Ukraine asked to be part of NATO, not anytime before, but AFTER Russia attacked.
    - Putin wanted Russia to join NATO twice since 2000, do you think Ukraine had any right to attack Russia back then? NO.

then a few inches here, a few there... From HIS point of view,
    he is defending his territory...
HOW CAN YOU DEFEND YOUR TERRITORY IN ANOTHER COUNTRY? Defence is when you were ATTACKED, was Russia attacked? NO.

You need to read some more, you know nothing about this conflict.

I think it would have been better to send materials -- so you have a good
idea what they are used for -- than just money, which is not always all accounted for.

I've read a little more into the backstory, and turns out one of

Russia has sort of always been like that. For whatever reason, they are paranoid about their neighbors and want a lot of "buffer states" between
them and the rest of Europe (and probably Asia, too).

That goes back at least as far as Napoleon's invasion, and possibly longer.
Stalin was super paranoid, much like Putin seems to be now.

I'm not sure which money you are talking about, but wasn't most of it weapons on stockpile the value of which was more or less "made up"? I mean, Germany sent some Gepards, which had been out of service for decades. They were too expensive to operate. The Netherlands sent F16s, because they wanted to replace them anyways. So what's the value of those?

    Yes you can...

Presidential elections were held in the United States on November 8, 1864, near the end of the American Civil War. Incumbent President Abraham Lincoln of the National Union Party easily defeated the Democratic nominee, former General George B. McClellan, by a wide margin of 212-21 in the electoral college, with 55% of the popular vote. For the election, the Republican Party and some Democrats created the National Union Party, especially to attract War Democrats.

    The war ended...

The conclusion of the American Civil War commenced with the articles of surrender agreement of the Army of Northern Virginia on April 9, at Appomattox Court House, by General Robert E. Lee and concluded with the surrender of the CSS Shenandoah on November 6, 1865, bringing the hostilities of the American Civil War to a close. Legally, the war did not end until a proclamation by President Andrew Johnson on August 20, 1866, when he declared "that the said insurrection is at an end and that peace, order, tranquillity, and civil authority now exist in and throughout the whole of the United States of America. During the civil war they had AR-Style Muskets... More US citizens died during the Civil War that all other conflicts combined... And they still voted... Americans are tougher than most people so that could explain them voting during a major conflict.

This wasn't a full scale war!

As I said above... More Americans died during this conflict than all others combined.

Wars end... Well the open killings. Look at Korea... War "Stopped"... There are no more open incursions. There is a demilitarized zone that both sides "respect". The Kim family is left to rule the North, like Z does with Ukraine, and the south does whatever it wants. The US isn't funding it and no American's are dieing.

Z could stop the war tomorrow and take his concerns to the UN and work to save whatever is left of the population.

Or he can do what you want... and millions more will die.
