Hello, All.
Merry Christmas! :)
Merry Christmas! :)
Merry Christmas! :)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you :)
I made homemade cheese ravioli with semolina flour for Christmas :)
We weren't able to celebrate Christmas Eve this year (I usually make stuffed squid for Christmas Eve) because of a death in the family, maybe I'll make it sometime this month...

This year I made the fettuccine by myself with semolina flour and fresh eggs, really relaxing! :)

Very Sad, sincere condolences. :(
If it can help somehow, my grand-grand father (The grand father of my father) died around easter (the recollections of my father are pale) suddenly without any notice, he was about 60.
My grandfather by father died in the day of easter meanwhile he was eating the
"tortellini in broth", with all his family, my father told me that he smashed his face in the dish and after few hours he died (my father's recalls are
really precise and sad about it), the doctor said it was due an aneurysm in th
brain, he was around 50.
My Father had a brain aneurysm near Christmas about ten years ago when he was 68, a surgeon saved him but now he's half paralyzed but he's live.
Now I'm 52 and I've beat my grand grand father and my grand father, I've
changed my lifestyle since I was 40 going to the gym everyday and pay attentio
to the diet, and I'm waiting to see if I did the right thing. :)
Anyway, misfortunes occours generally on the holidays, I don't know why but it
looks so.
Get your sad and put it in a special place in your mind, it's important to recall and it's important to step over, every new day is a new opportunity to do great things! ;)
Have a nice holidays and do the stuffed squid! :)
P.S. If you give me the recipe of the stuffed squid I can give you the recipe of the Brasato. ;)

Thank you :) The week before Christmas, I made about 90 of them and[...]
still have about 30 left in my freezer. I use a Marcato ravioli form
I order Caputo semolina flour that is imported from Italy on
Amazon.com <grin> It is SO great to use. Sometimes I make Olive oil
cake with semolina as well (Extra-virgin oil). :)
though. My father also had an aneurysm and surgery, but died of lung cancer in 2001. I still miss my father and my mother very much. My mother died in 2012 of various cancers...
Thank you :) I hope you have a wonderful 2020+ :)

Please use Italian EVOO (Ward can witness, it makes the difference!) :)
I'm sorry for your parents, i'm lucky I still have both parents, my mother has >hearth problems but she doesn't surrender. He's 80 and take care of my father,
I try to help them as I can but I think that soon we will need the help of someone.
By the way, resist is the password! :)
Thank you :) I hope you have a wonderful 2020+ :)
I hope it for you too. :)
Thank you Janis! :)

My mother and father were both 2nd Generation Italian... in other
words, both their parents came to the U.S. from Italy. What is sad to
me is that both my parents refused to teach us to speak Italian (6 children) because they wanted us to 'fit in' American culture :(
And so later, I did have to teach it to myself :) I already had
studied French, Spanish and Latin so it was not difficult - It's been
a long time since then though <grin>
Of course! It is all I have in my house. I stopped buying 'regular' olive oil a very long time ago. I only cook with Extra-Virgin, and it
is definitely imported from Italy :) It is much better for you, and
in my opinion, you cannot make a good 'Clam Sauce and Linguine'
without it :)
Btw, I did get your receipe in netmail, thank you it looks wonderful
:)
Do you want my recipe for Tiramisu? I made this desert for the
members of the Cooking Echo picnic a number of years ago, and it came
out really well <bg> As a matter of fact, my mother and I put together
a cookbook of all the recipes she and I used over the years so that everyone in our family could enjoy cooking :)

Under some points of view USA is a great Country, everyone has an opportunity to have a great and succesfull life, but I think that the Anglo-Saxon way of life is missing a bit the culture of solidariety.
If you're stong, capable and stright you win, the other are loosers and who cares about them.
I like more the socialist/communist vision, but as the story tells, this >vision >is a loosing one and the capitalysm won! So please be nice with this >old rusted > Italian communist, do it for your origin. :P

Grande, quindi parli pure Italiano, un totale di 6 lingue, complimenti! :)

What you did with your mother is awesome. A good witness of the good time spen
together behind the cooker, is a great present for the sons. ;)
I'll be glat to look at your recipe, we can swap the recipes of the Tiramisu' (the u is with the accent ;) ) so we can look at the differences.
Buon Anno Nuovo. ;)
Merry Christmas, keep strong! :)
