From Rob Swindell@1:103/705 to GitLab note in main/sbbs on Thu Apr 24 17:47:40 2025
    https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/commit/dea9775d3596d199885afe3f598f8bfcd6d8f8da#note_7144

Is there a reason we don't `return;` instead?

Because, surprisingly, it doesn't print "Error: no such message" if you use return rather than exit and I don't know why and I'm not going to delve into it. I can delete the commit if you like.
