I replaced my trusty old 2GB Nvidia GT1030 with a RTX3050 - it was the
fastest card I could find that didn't need external power (I have an old off-lease Dell, don't want to fidget with SATA to power connectors or
    swap the power supply out)

Let the gaming begin! War Thunder went from 40 fps at medium (optimized
by Nvidia) to 120 fps at max (without running their optimizer)!

120fps, we'd have killed for 12 back in my ZX Spectrum days. Funny really, I'm thinking of packing up the PS4 as the cost of the online sillyness is annoying me. I play on my orignal xBox more and even the speccy still gets played with. Enjoy :)

Woohoo! Was your 1030 a DDR4 or DDR5 version? Those things are pretty
sad... I had a DDR4 version and it was pitiful... The 3050 will suit you a lot better, and is DLSS capable, though not FG...

Probably DDR4 - I bought it many years ago when it was a decent low-end
    card.

The 3050 is great, so far - fans get a little noisy when playing games,
but I'm usually wearing a headset so it only bothers my family in the
    adjoining room. :)

How close is it to your PSU?

It's in a mini-tower case, about 2-3 inches from the power supply. It's
a long, narrow power supply that has fans on the end, not blowing near
    the GPU fans.

The noise isn't a huge deal, just new - and worth a jump in 80+ FPS!
