I haven't seen any rules against it, unless there is a more appropriate
    group for it.

I'm sorry your feeling it - sometimes the springtime isn't sunny for everyone. Hang in there, and I don't see an issue with talking to your friends about what yer going thru...

I've never had deep depression, but I certainly know that attitude is everything - and have been down myself. Just try to be positive and remember that tomorrow always comes. :P

good words Paulie, you rockstar ;)

It would be nice for one of the 'nets to create a Mental Health echo or somesuch so that people can openly talk about it, so that they don't feel concerned about talking on a forum which is a mixture of other messages. IMO I'm totally fine for you to talk about such matters here, just thinking
    about the masses, that's all.

A lot of people have suffered from being mentally ill for some point or many points in their lives. Myself included. These days, I'm far too busy to be blue! All I can say is that I put the negative things in my life into a trashcan and surrounded myself with things and other people that fill my cup. If you can, reach out to people that you know you are happiest around. Take lots of exercise wherever possible, and stop to smell the roses. On your side of the planet, springtime is coming, so you probably can stop to *literally* smell the flowers! Most imporantly, get plenty of sleep - go to bed at the same time every night, switch off your mobile phone at least an hour before bedtime, and do something that calms you like reading a book.

I know that this all sounds simple and possibly patronising (it did for me when I heard the same advice), but it truly does help.

    Wishing you all the best,
    -Al

It's a great idea to have a forum for these kind of discussions, back in
the '90s, my othernet had a similar forum. We had a few people on anti-depressants who could compare notes on drugs, dosages and
experiences, and it made them feel less alone in their struggles. For
someone without issues, it was enlightening.

A lot of the allure of BBSing in the 80s and 90s was for groups of
people to support others in their positions and to be supported.

These days, I'm thinking it'd need to be moderated, one rabble-rouser
could cause a lot of damage.

Sorry to hear you're feeling this way. It's sad that so many people treat others that way.

    Sorry to hear that, mary!

I've gone through a lot of that myself. Indeed, around 2015 I hit a low point, and suffice to say, I'm lucky and thankful to be here writing this today. Life is hard, we're all just doing our best!

I know that it may seem cliche to say, but I'm gonna say it anyway:

You matter, you are valued, you are loved. <3

The best way to crush the stigma and silence those who discriminate is for us to talk about it, I reckon!

You seem like a lovely person, I hope you can get through the challenges you're facing. You're always welcome to shoot me a netmail if you want somebody to talk to, or even just to listen!

    Take care, mary4!

Kudos on bring the topic and your situation to discussion.

Anything I can learn to help would be appreciated.

As we're taught to not risk being hurtful by asking much, we end up losing our ability to learn helpful things.

My daughter has mental health issues. So I'm always open to talking about it.

There is still a lot I don't understand; but I know that they shouldn't be ignored or bullied due to their situation.

I would love to see an Echo also, I would love to have it on my board.

I'm not sure but there maybe one on HealthNet or an echo in which the topic is discussed.
I'm a little behind on some of my echoes, since I try and carry all the active ones I can fine.
