Went and saw this at the movies a few days ago.
I really enjoyed it and the author of the story clearly spent a lot of time trying to ground the plot in actual science... sure there are bits the stray into the 'science fiction' space (and that's fine) but there were clear efforts to make the script scientifically credible which I think is to be commended..
This movie is by the same team that did The Martian a number of years
ago.

We somehow scored early access tickets and got to see it the Monday
before it was officially released. Thought it was a great movie, so
much so that we're going to see it again later today, this time in IMAX 70mm.
I loved The Martian as well. It also received a lot of praise for sticking close to the science.
I've listened to the audiobook for The Martian and am now going to start on the Project Hail Mary audiobook.
I felt that way about The Martian, too. Even if it weren't well
grounded, the writing seems believable enough to 'be there'.
Certainly entertaining - it's not too often I see a 2.5 hour movie and don't feel like I've sat through a 2.5 hour movie! :-)

cool, I've never seen an IMAX screening but here it's amazing..

I was the same I looked at the length before going into the film and gulped

The audio book is very good as well
I'm looking forward to seeing this movie, just haven't found the time yet.
I'd love to hear Johnny Depp read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" as
HST.
My favorite type of audio-books are the ones where the author reads it, especially if it's a celeb. I have such books by Betty White, Steve
I listened to several Stephen Hawking books read by Stephen Hawking.
The hardest part was expecting certain parts to be funny like Douglas Adams, but they weren't ;).
Currently holding off watching Project Hail Mary until I finish the
book. So far, I'm unimpressed with the technical/science terms they try
to use there. For instance, some frequency was mentioned in 'microns'..
Are you listening or reading? Audible rendition was epic, made the movie very enjoyable too having really fallen in love w/ the way Rocky talks
in Audible version.
Amaze... Amaze...
it. You know an audiobook is good when you get home and spend 10
minutes sitting in your driveway just so you can get to the end of a chapter.
