Why binkd when Synchronet has BinkIt natively designed for it in
it's javascript engine? ;)
I've considered it, but then I saw that fileboxes werent supported?
Outboxes are supported, experimental currently, but supported. And I'll be using that here pretty soon with the IBBS stuff here, and if I do find any issues, I'll have the Synchronet devs actively able to help, and since BinkIt is in javascript, any issues I find can be quickly fixed and tested without too much effort. ;)
Besides, I'm using binkd for another project, so it was a way of having things consistent, and understanding one configuration/app really well...
I run my HUB server with BinkD, HPT, HTick, GED and RNTrack, and then I run my BBS with pretty much pure Synchronet. Really one of the main reasons I even got to building the HUB was Synchronet's Areafix rescan only allowed all or nothing, and itself didn't used to handle TIC at all, now it does with TickIT and HatchIT, all natively.
Does have some benefits, for sure, has some differences as well, no doubt.
